The historical data analysis of the production process of ELSAP oil refinery, using Lean methodology, led to the redesign of the factory’s operations and to the creation of a new dynamic production planning system. The new operation has reduced costs up to 35% and despite the intense seasonality of raw material, the company no longer plans based on stocks, but on the weighted customer demand. Establishing key performance indicators has helped to maintain results, at least at the level of the initial design.

BUSINESS ELEMENTS team, in collaboration with SYNGENTA’s team, conducted an exercise (SMED workshop) aimed at improving the process of set up changes in a production
