Using principles and tools of lean production, BUSINESS ELEMENTS designed the new layout and operations rules of the department, aiming the optimal utilization and balance of resources (space, people, machines)as well as the production capacity increase of the department, on the occasion of its expansion into a larger space.
The result of the design was:
• The design of the new floor plan, which captures the spatial rearrangement of production equipment, as well as the locations of intermediate and final stock and materials, in order to best serve the production process flows.
• A new way of operating and organizing resources (at a specific production level), which is compatible with the new proposed provision.
